Jumper

It's so high up here, Luke thought peering over the railing, I can't believe I was dumb enough to jump off of this.

Luke never felt at home in his own body. He knew he had to be a male, but he never felt like he wanted to be a male. So he went through most of his 47 years as a male. He got a job as a welder, he watched football with his friends, he wore suits when he envied women for wearing dresses. Later in life he put those thoughts aside and decided to man up, so he had three beautiful children with a beautiful woman who he loved, but he never once felt as home in his own skin.

Then one day his wife left him, and took custody of his children. Luke felt absolutely betrayed and alone. His wife and children were the very reason why he felt at home in his skin, despite the constant nagging thoughts.

Three years after their divorce Luke decided to off himself. If he couldn't be comfortable with his own body, and he had nobody to share it with, then what was the point in living anyways?

So Luke went to a building he deemed worthy enough to kill him and jumped.

They often say that once a jumper takes the leap that jumper immediately regrets ever taking the jump. Survival instincts take over and all of a sudden they realize how much they actually love life, and how it was a terrible mistake to let gravity pull them straight to the surface of the Earth. Luke was no exception. What was exceptional was at the very moment he crossed the 4th floor, a new set of instincts took over, he made eye contact with a woman in the room for a brief moment and the next moment he was standing in her place. The entire building rushed to the scene of his splattered body on the pavement below. Luke just stood in shock, in shock that not only did he live but he was in a body not his own.

That was six years ago, since the jump he had lived the lives of many women. A late blooming body hopper, it took a life or death experience to grant him his full potential. He had never been happier.

"Is everything alright?" Hilary asked. She was his current girlfriend in his current body. She wrapped her arms around Luke, Luke wish he could tell her everything. "You look like somebody died."

"It's nothing," Luke said giving Hilary a kiss on the cheek, "in fact I feel more alive than ever. How about we get off this chilly roof top and head back to your place?"

"I thought you'd never ask, it's chilly as fuck up here," Hilary said taking Luke by the hand as they made their way off the rooftop.
