Cart Boy

"Yoo hoo, cart boy over here," Shelby heard a familiar voice. She was pushing a line of shopping carts out of the parking lot and back towards the store for her twelfth time today. She turned her head towards the direction of the voice. It was Carter in her body standing next to a cart return. "You missed a few!" He said.

Shelby rolled her eyes and ignored him. "I'll get them my next round Carter."

"Carter, that's a funny name to call a woman," he said.

"Ugh fine, I'll get them next round Misses Buckley," Shelby avoided even looking over to her old body.

"That's more like it, glad to see my husband employees strong hard working men like yourself. It'd be a shame if I had to tell him a cart boy wasn't doing his job correctly and treating his lovely wife with disrespect. Have a good day young man!"

"Ugh," Shelby groaned. "Same to you... Misses Buckley." She said between her teeth.

Shelby was the beautiful wife of Henry Buckley, an owner of a small chain of grociery stores across the city. Despite the residents notoriously calling her nothing more than a trophy wife, she had recently started managing the Buckley Foundation, a charity her husband established and placed her in charge so that she could prove to the public that she was more than a piece of eye candy. Unfortunately just a few weeks after establishing the foundation, Carter, a twenty-year old high school drop out stole her body and her life. A few days after taking her life Carter made the announcement that Shelby would no longer be in charge of the foundation because "How could a woman as pretty and hot as me be smart enough to run a charity?"

Shelby didn't know much about Carter, but what she did know is that he had been written up multiple times at work for running late, sneaking off during working hours to get high near the dumpsters, and for telling off customers who were pissing him off. She hadn't spoken to him that much since he stole her life, but she suspected he was the laziest kid in town and he took her life of leisure because he was too lazy to live his own.

  1. I wonder how long before her husband notices the change in behavior? Will he like his new wife or will he divorce her?

    Cheers
